If you're looking to get in shape like a boxer or you're just looking for some boxing workouts to add to your own routine then you're at the right place. You can also find plenty of drills, techniques and tips to help you exercise like a champ.

Floyd Mayweather Jr has come out of retirement and long layoffs from the ring numerous times. But in the build up to the Victor Ortiz fight in September, Mayweather said he wants to fight 2 or 3 times a year before he finally retires from the boxing ring. He has taken long layoffs from boxing over the past couple of years, and you get the feeling if he takes another layoff then he may not return. Luckily for us, Floyd Mayweather has booked out the MGM Grand Arena for May 2012. So who will he be fighting?

Manny Pacquiao
You can’t write an article about Floyd Mayweather without including Manny Pacquiao in the discussion. A Mayweather/Pacquiao fight is the most desired fight in boxing, so this is no doubt the fight which boxing fans would pay to see the most, but I think it is very unlikely to happen next for Mayweather or maybe not at all.

The reason this fight is so intriguing for boxing fans around the world is because the two boxers have been dominating the Welterweight divisions for the past few years. The two have shared the ring with some very worthy contenders like; Shane Mosley, Ricky Hatton and Oscar De la Hoya, and both have won there fights against these opponents very comfortably.

Not only that, but over most of their careers the two have looked impossible to beat. Mayweather so far has  an unbeaten record and Pacquiao has been beaten before but very early on in his career. Since then, Pac Man has been unstoppable

The fight however, hasn’t happened because Mayweather believes that Pacquiao has been taking illegal drugs which help him perform better and has called for Pacquiao to have a drug test if they were to fight. Pacquiao has always refused to have a drugs tests near to a fight because he says taking blood so near to a fight will weaken him. In recent interviews Pacquiao has said he would do a drug test before a fight, but it still looks unlikely to happen.

Sergio Martinez
A fight between Floyd Mayweather and middleweight champion Sergio Martinez would also strike a lot of interest in the boxing world. Sergio has fought before at welterweight and light middleweight but has moved up to the middleweight division because he can now not make the welterweight, and light middleweight requirements.

Martinez does look very hard to beat at the minute and is willing to fight at 150 or 154 against Floyd Mayweather, so this is a fight fans would want to see, but not as much as Mayweather/Pacquiao.

Martinez has been avoided by many world champions. One reason for this is because he looks unbeatable but the main reason is that he doesn't generate the interest or money that both Mayweather and Pacquiao generate. Many boxing fans believe that Mayweather does not want to risk losing his unbeaten record by fighting Martinez and not earning as much money as he would when fighting other well-known names such as Shane Mosley.

Martinez fought ‘Dazzling’ Darren Barker at the start of October in a fight which was supposed to be a walk in the park for Martinez and many people expected an early K’O for Martinez. Martinez did get his K’O but it came in the 11th round after losing some of the middle rounds to Barker who had a very good defense.

So now that Martinez looks beatable it looks likely that Mayweather may fight him in the near future while still earning some good money.

Amir Khan
Pacquiao and Martinez are the two boxers who look like they could beat Mayweather at the moment but if he keeps improving like he is doing with each fight, then Amir Khan could be considered as another boxer to beat Mayweather.

Mayweather has expressed interest in fighting in the UK. The thing that Mayweather loves the most is money. And a fight with Khan in the UK would certainly get him a lot of money.

Amir Khan has expressed a lot of interest in one day fighting Mayweather and Money himself has said he would fight Khan. He also likes having long layoffs and Khan has said he would be ready for Mayweather this time next year. Right now Mayweather would beat Khan easily, but if Khan keeps improving with every fight then it could be a tough one to call.

Victor Ortiz
Victor Ortiz doesn't deserve a rematch
Ortiz was getting clearly beaten in the fight with Mayweather but that fact that the fight ended when Mayweather hit Ortiz when he had his hands down and wasn’t looking has made Ortiz say that he wasn’t fairly beaten. In the post-fight press conference Mayweather has said he would have the rematch if Ortiz wants one.

This fight is probably the fight boxing fans would like to see the least out of the options listed, but for Mayweather it should be an easy defence of his WBC title and a good way to make easy money.

Mayweather v Khan is the Most Likely Fight
Like I said earlier, Mayweather vs Pacquiao is the fight the fans most like to see. But I think Khan Vs Mayweather is the fight which Mayweather will have next. It will probably happen this time next year, but at the rate Khan is improving the fight should be worth the wait.

Which fight do you think is most likely to happen next for Mayweather? Let me know by leaving a comment.
