The Heavyweight division is alive and well in the UK

David Haye vs Dereck Chisora - the biggest rivalry in boxing today, and now the most anticipated fight of the year. Rumours were spreading throughout the last weekend about a possible fight at Upton Park between the two Brits, now it's a reality.

It has been confirmed that Haye and Chisora will fight on the 14th of July and a press conference will take place today to announce the fight. The fight is at Upton Park and it looks like Alexander Povetkin will also be there to defend his WBA regular Heavyweight title against Hasim Rahman.

To put a long story short, the BBBofC didn't sanction the fight, but both Chisora and Haye have been provided with a Luxembourg license which allows them to fight on UK soil. Obviously the BBBofC aren't happy with the fight, but nevertheless the fight and build-up both guarantee top entertainment.

As I said earlier, the fight will take place at Upton Park, this means that Kevin Mitchell vs Ricky Burns could be added to the bill, but as of yet that fight hasn't been confirmed.

So we have Dereck Chisora vs David Haye and Hasim Rahman vs Alexander Povetkin on the same card with the winners possibly fighting each other. It's tough to pick a winner in both fights, but one thing you can guarantee is that we will see a very good night of boxing on July the 14th.
