Josesito Lopez shocks the world

Last night, at the Staples Centre, in Los Angeles, Josesito Lopez pulled off one of this year's biggest upsets by stopping Victor Ortiz, after the ninth round. Ortiz didn't come out for the tenth round because of an injury to his jaw, which was caused by a left hook in the ninth round.

In my opinion, Lopez was losing the fight, and he was hurt several times in the early rounds, but had Ortiz come out for the tenth round, I think Lopez would have still won by stoppage. Ortiz's jaw was in bad condition, and a few more clean hits on the chin probably would have forced the ringside doctor to stop the contest.

And with the grit, determination, heart and chin Lopez showed, he deserved the 'W.' I would love to see Lopez fight Marcos Maidana, Lucas Matthysse or Victor Ortiz in a rematch next, and for Ortiz, he needs to put the record straight and attempt to avenge his loss to Lopez.

We can safely wave goodbye to a fight between Saul Alvarez and Ortiz, which is a shame, but even if Ortiz somehow found a way to win last night, his badly injured jaw would have forced him to pull out of the September date with Alvarez.

Who would you like to see Josesito Lopez fight next?
