'Dudey' has an opponent confirmed for his next fight

Paul McCloskey will look to get back to winning ways as he takes on Manuel Perez, on the Carl Frampton/Steve Molitor under-card. McCloskey has lost two of his last three fights, and personally, I thought he lost the fight against Breidis Prescott.

If McCloskey is going to win, or fight for another World Title, he needs to beat Manuel Perez, and it would help to win in style. Perez is a decent fighter, he drew with Brandon Rios, but lost by stoppage in the rematch. He lost to Mercito Gesta, but he is currently on a two fight win streak. In his most recent fight he beat Jose Miguel Cotto, and the fight before that he beat Edgar Santana, a decent fighter who has a win over Josesito Lopez.

Perez has only been stopped once, and that was to Brandon Rios when he was on a roll, so I would be very surprised if McCloskey won this fight by knock-out. Even though McCloskey was stopped in his last fight, I would be even more surprised if he got stopped again, Perez only has four KO's from eight-teen wins.

This fight will go the distance in my opinion, I think both guys have a decent chance of winning. I think it's a 50/50 fight, Perez throws a lot of punches, and McCloskey was out-worked by Amir Khan. However Perez hasn't got good defensive skills himself, he is their to be hit, and his face swells up in most of his fights.

Even though Perez is the one on the win streak, I give the edge to McCloskey as he is fighting in Northern Ireland, and if the fight is close, he will get the decision.

I do think this will be an interesting fight, and I look forward to watching it, along with all of the over fights on the Carl Frampton/Steve Molitor fight card, in September.
