Both teams are apparently in talks for the rematch nobody is talking about

Their is a strong rumour going around the boxing world that Amir Khan and Paul McCloskey are in talks for a rematch fight which will probably take place later in the year.

As you can see by the title, I'm not 'for' this fight taking place. To me it's pointless, I know Khan lost his last fight, but what will he gain by fighting Paul Mccloskey again? He's already beat McCloskey, so Khan has nothing to gain by beating him again. If McCloskey wins, Khan's career is well and truly over.

The thing that annoys me the most is how Khan contradicts himself. Last week their were rumours of him possibly fighting Joan Guzman, and when Khan was asked about this in an interview, he said "We are looking for a more credible opponent", so if he wants a more credible opponent than unbeaten, two-weight world champion, Joan Guzman, why is he talking about fighting Paul McCloskey?

I have nothing against Paul, but he lost by stoppage to a way past his prime DeMarcus Corley. And in my opinion Prescott beat him close but clearly.

Speaking of Prescott, I've said it time and time again, Khan would be better off fighting Prescott in his next fight. At least he has something to gain if he beats Prescott. Unlike the McCloskey fight, which doesn't even capture the imagination of the hardcore fight fans.

What would you think if Amir Khan chose to fight Paul McCloskey in a rematch?
