On November 1st unbeaten prospect Frankie Gavin (13-0-0  10KO) comes up against former world champion Junior Witter (41-5-2  22KO). Witter's best days are behind him, but he will still be Gavin's toughest fight so far. Gavin is inexperienced with only thirteen fights to his name so if he is going to start looking at fighting European level guys then he needs to get some difficult domestic fights out of the way.

Witter is on a four match win streak that he started with a points win over Kevin Macintyre in 2011, but he is far from the champion we once knew. He became fodder for blue-chip prospects to test themselves against as far back as 2008 when he lost a split decision fight to Timothy Bradley, and Witter can't expect to get back to his old level.

Thaty said, Ricky Hatton is back on the scene and that might spur Witter on. He's spent his entire career chasing for a fight with the Hitman and never got one, so maybe with a win over Frankie Gavin and then a couple more good results Junior Witter can finally book himself a ticket to a Ricky Hatton fight.
