A fight I'd like to see: David Price Vs Kevin Johnson

First of all I want to say that I don't think this fight will ever happen, it's too risky for David Price, especially after his shock TKO loss to Tony Thompson. However in my opinion this would be a very interesting fight, I asked for your thoughts on Twitter and judging by the responses, Price would still be a big favourite in this fight. But I disagree.

I'm not just saying that because of Price's last fight, I always thought Kevin Johnson would do well Vs Price, but after seeing Price get blasted out by a cagey-veteran in Tony Thompson, I can confidently say that I think Johnson would beat Price by stoppage.

Here's why:

I can't see Price winning a decision, he isn't on the same skill level as Vitali Klitschko or Tyson Fury, who were able to box on the back foot and shut-out Johnson. Watch Price's fight with Matt Skelton, you will see that when Skelton comes forward, Price doesn't jab and move, he goes back in a straight line against the ropes and covers up.

The only other option for Price to win would be by Knock-Out. I do admit that Price can KO anyone if he catches them cleanly, but Johnson has a granite chin to match his slick defensive skills. He went the distance with Vitali Klitschko, only three other men can say the same thing.

A few of you have pointed out that Johnson isn't a big puncher with only a 40% KO ratio. But take into consideration that in Johnson's nine previous wins, seven are by Knock-Out. He was on a three win KO streak before he fought Vitali. I think Johnson would walk Price onto a well placed counter-punch, just like Tony Thompson did.

That's my opinion, here are a few Tweets I received when I asked you about the fight:

Ray Poplawski - "Still see Price winning a decision, unless Johnson grows a set and tries for a KO. But he's not a banger."

Sean O'Briain - "Price is too rangy for him. Johnson isn't especially a hard hitter."

Steve Howell - "Price's range would tell in my opinion. Johnson not a big hitter either."

Sam Bill - "Johnson doesn't have enough go about him in my opinion. Price would out-box him. If Johnson gave it a go he could win."

Thanks for the comments.

What do you think of this fight??
